UMPQUA WATERSHEDS RECEIVES GRANT
FROM THE McKENZIE RIVER GATHERING FOUNDATION

Umpqua Watersheds, Inc., received a $9,500 grant from the McKenzie River Gathering Foundation to support Umpqua Watersheds 2009 Many Voices Campaign to implement capacity building, develop local collaborative efforts, and regional partnerships that lead to the protection and restoration of the ecosystems of the Umpqua watershed and beyond.

Umpqua Watersheds is a grassroots organization representing citizens located throughout Douglas County who want to ensure public land ecosystems are protected from harm from special interests and industrial uses so that the ecosystems can continue to be resilient and productive for all citizens and for the wildlife that depend upon them.

MRG Foundation funds grassroots groups working on a range of issues, including poverty, war, racism, and environmental destruction. Since 1976, they have given over $10 million in grants to create social justice in Oregon.
