Welcome to the Yellow Creek Roseburg BLM Timber Sale, a half hour
drive west of Sutherlin, Oregon. This series of pictures was taken in unit 3 before
the loggers started cutting on 2/12/96, and the results as of 2/19 and 2/25/96. Could
Congress have really known what they were doing when they passed the logging rider?
The trees in the pictures have soot on their barks. They have withstood hundreds of years of natural fires, high winds, floods, and catastrophic events. This week they are falling to the power of the 104th Congress. |
