Because of the higher elevation and harsher winters, these ancient trees are not as large as the Yellow Creek trees, but far far older. Age samples taken on 3/20/96 calculated a tree to be 1044 years old, with many similar trees seen in the sale. (How old are they?) Because of their smaller size, and great age, the wood grain is coveted around the world.
